The goal of my SideBar segment on the Fox Morning News Show is to assist people with problems that may be affected by current trends. Since the latter part of last year, I am seeing a dramatic increase in bankruptcy clients. The increase in national filings is up 40% and the filings in the state of Maine are up higher than that. Large corporations have long sought protection from their creditors under the federal Bankruptcy Code due to their legal team's advice. Many consumers are unaware that Congress has afforded them that same protection.
